This evening at Zebra Hotel in Juba, the leadership of TEYA under the Deputy Chairperson Hon. Atem Khot Majok aka Atem Pap has officially visited the Wrestling Team of Bor County at 4 Pm South Sudan local time with the gift of 1 bull, this was done in a spirit of togetherness as the neighbouring community.
The donation of the bull from TEYA leadership in Juba to the wrestlers of Bor county is a gesture of support and encouragement for the wrestling team. The Bor county wrestling team will be participating in a wrestling match against the Central Equatoria team on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at New-Site playing ground.
The event was attended by honorable members including Hon. Abraham Mamer Kur, the Minister of Land and Housing, and Hon. Mabil, the Minister of Culture and Sport of the Jonglei government. Additionally, all executive members of TEYA, under the leadership of Hon. Atem Majok, the Deputy Chairperson, were present at the occasion as well as the chairlady of Nyiir cit Arialbek in Juba Ms. Adut Mamer Ayach and Chairlady of Nyiir cit Arialbeek in Nairobi Ms. Nyandeng Awai were present at the occasion. The support from TEYA leadership highlights the commitment to promoting and preserving traditional sports and cultural practices and coexistence our communities of Jonglei.
The bull was handed over to the Bor wrestling team and Bor County Youth Association in Juba Hon. Kur Ayuen, the BCYA Chairperson, and the wrestling team at Zebra Hotel in Juba received the donation. Hon. Atem Khot Majok, the TEYA Deputy Chairperson, was responsible for presenting the bull, while Hon. Arok Dut Arok, is out of the country.
After all, the wrestlers promise to work hard and bring honor to Bor county in the wrestling match against central Equatoria team. The bull (thon Mamer) that was handed over symbolizes strength and determination, and the team vows to use that energy to emerge victorious. The BCYA leadership also thanks TEYA for their continuous support and encouragement throughout the period of wrestling. They believe that with such strong backing, their team will be unstoppable. The wrestlers leaders and advisors such as Ngang Anyieth and Ajang Mapourdit, express their personal gratitude to the leadership of TEYA for the generous gift.
